Big Girl

Part of me wants to keep my little baby girl in a crib forever (that sounds creepy, but you know what I mean), but she is growing up and I can't stop it.  I found out her friends have made the transition and we've been talking about it for a while.  So last weekend, Robert turned the crib into a big girl bed.  It was a big hit!

The first night (and every night since then) she was so excited about getting in the bed all by herself, she said she didn't need a book or a story.  She just wanted to get in bed and "Mommy can go downstairs now."  I closed all the other doors and of course the gate at the top of the stairs, not knowing if we had a sleepwalker on our hands or not, but she did great.  She hasn't tried to get out (yet) until someone goes up there and really enjoys being able to do it by herself.

She woke up from her nap and just peered over the edge, didn't get out.  I know this won't last forever, but she sure has made the transition easier on me.

Milestones are so bittersweet.  Oh, we are potty training too.
