Snow Day

Sorry for the break in posts, but hopefully Sara's blog  has kept you up to date with Avery's travel to Disney.  Unfortunately (or fortunately) while Avery was gone, Carter was sick; so we didn't do much fun stuff.

Weekend before last, Charlotte got some snow and  lot of sleet.  Laura's work was canceled so she got to stay home with the kiddos, while I had to work (at least it was from home).

Avery did get dressed up to go outside and was pretty excited about the light dusting that was coming down on friday.

A friday evening walk around the neighborhood trying to catch a few snowflakes.

However, Saturday morning we woke up to a half inch of snow on top of our half inch of sleet.  Notice the nice clean street.

While we don't own a sled, I was able to take a Christmas wreath holder and build a pull behind sled that worked pretty well on top of the ice we had under the snow.

Avery was pretty excited about me pulling her around.  If you have ever been to our house, you know that we are at the top of a hill.  I would pull her up and down the hill until I almost had a heart attack.

You can see based on the number of lines, how many times I got to sprint up and down the hill pulling Avery's "sled".

Ice Ice Baby

Before the next storm rolls through, guess I should document the first one.  We all "worked from home" last Tuesday (Robert really did work all day and I worked half, ok one third of the day).  After some cartoons in bed, Avery was ready to venture outside.  She dressed herself and pulled me out the door.
There was basically a layer of ice on everything, even the holly bushes.  Avery liked crunching around on the grass and she managed to scrape up one "snowball" to throw in the air.

She will be really excited if we actually get 6 to 10 inches tonight!!
