Sunglasses

Lately she has been attached to her sunglasses.  She loves to wear them when she goes outside, but also when she is inside.

Being cool, acting casual.
Off for a long loud walk.  For some reason, when she walks she always has to be making noises.  The faster she walks, the louder the noises.
 Enjoying the flowers...not ours.

Trouble Maker

Avery has been "sick" the past couple of days.  She has had another round of hand, foot, and mouth; but she fought it off pretty well.  However, she couldn't go to school Thursday or Friday so Laura and I took turns having a goofy day with Avery.  These pictures were right before bedtime...

Busted....
Oh....you aren't going to tell me to put the diapers back up?  Then I will go back to having fun.

Sleep Stories

So the last week or so (since she has been sick) Avery's sleep has been not awesome.  She was a pretty solid sleeper from 8pm until 6:30~7am, but has since been a lot more sensitive.  She is now waking up about every night and can't put herself back to sleep half of the time.  Which causes her to be tired in the mornings when we drop her off at school.  Hopefully it is teething and not more sickness.  I feel bad for those parents that have to put up with this for 2 years as we have only had problems the first 13 weeks and then a few weeks here and there.

Here are some funny pictures of a very tired little toddler.

Passed out with the blocks.
This one is from today, Avery curling up with a blanket she found in the middle of the floor.
Also from today, you can see the other babies playing and Avery crashing in the corner on a pillow.

Weekend

We finally got to stay in Charlotte for a full weekend so we didn't do anything exciting other than hang out with this lil happy baby.

Jet Ski

So of course we (Rob) wanted to take Avery on a jetski ride while at the lake.  The first time she was a little bit in awe of the whole thing, but the second and third days we were up there she would point at it and say "Da Da."  We would ask her if she wanted to ride on the jetski and she would say "YEAH!"  While out on the jetski she would just look around unless we would go over bumps and then a big grin would come out.  Anytime I would pause or stop, she would say "More" and give a big grin.

Getting ready to roll.
"I thought you were going to take me this time da da"
On one of the trips back to the dock...  You can see a big grin on her face.

Lake Fun

This past weekend the Marshall family was amazingly able to gather at the lake.  Avery had a lot of fun being spoiled by her aunts and uncles as well as Gigi and Ru (my parent's newnames).  We had a lot of fun watching other people get the laughs and smiles out of the happiest person we know.

Going on the slide with Gigi.  I don't think Avery could have done this enough times...
 "Dada...you are next"
My parents set up a little wading pool up beside the lake because Avery hates getting the sand on her hands.  She had a blast playing with an assortment of old cool whip containers.  In this shot she actually has one of her beach toys in action.
Standing up in the water on her own.  She would randomly want to walk out to about waist deep then wander back to the shore.  Of course, we were just out of frame for this picture.
I can't remember what happened off to Avery's right, but she seems pretty excited about it.  Based on the rest of the weekend, it was probably one of the three dogs walking by.  She knows Sara's dogs by name now (in addition to Charger) and would call out to them when they came by.

Family Reunion / Sitting on the Dock

As a continuation of the Family Reunion pictures....here is Avery running around on the dock being happy.
Walking around with her cousin that is one month younger, Harper.  They were hilarious in how they interacted.  For some reason they were very stand offish.  They would walk up to each other and stare, waiting for the other one to throw the first punch.
Could this baby be any happier to be outside?
 Chilling in her chair.
Being loved on by mommy...

Family Reunion / Blowing Bubbles

This past weekend was Laura's family reunion at White Lake.  Avery was coming of a week out of school due to being sick, so we really weren't sure what kind of baby would show up.  Would it be the crying and screaming baby of the past week or the normal happy Avery.  We got a lot of both.  During the day it was happy Avery, but at night she refused to sleep because she thought she was missing out on a party somewhere.

I took a ton of pictures so I am going to have to break it down in to several posts.

Aunt Stephanie had fun blowing Avery bubbles and Avery had a blast trying to chase them around.

Extra Doggies

As I mentioned earlier, Aunt Sara dropped off her beagles for us to watch while she rode up with the Rotmans to the murder mitten (Michigan).  Avery has been enjoying every moment of extra doggies, especially because they are so much more cooperative to cuddling with a handsy toddler compared to Charger.
Giving Emma hugs...
 Best friends.
 Where are Emma's ears?

Sick baby

What do you mean I should be sleeping at 930 pm?

Pool Time

So it being incredibly hot over the weekend, we decided to take a grumpy toddler down to the pool to get out of the house. Turns out she was grumpy because she was sick, but the pool did a good job of lifting her spirits.  In our pool there is a bench built into the pool that you can sit on if you are an adult or stand on if you are a Avery sized person.  She was standing there chilling and splashing, but kept wanting to stick her head in the water.  We of course, being good parents, would stop her from trying to drink the pool.  However, her persistence wore us down and we gave in and said "Fine, drink the pool...see how it tastes..."

Then this happened.

We were laughing so hard the first time she did it.  I don't know who taught her this or how she figured out that she doesn't have gills to breathe underwater, but I expect her to be on the Olympic under 18months swimming team very shortly.

Greenville Town

Our good friend Kyle was in town from Korea, so we drove down to Greenville to hang out with the ol college gang.  It was about 1000 degrees outside so we mostly tried to stay in the shade.  Avery was a trooper despite not being on a good nap schedule.  She smiled for everyone and did all her tricks.  Luckily Mary n Jimmy set out a baby pool for the kids to get in and splash to cool off.

Testing out the water.
I think this water will do just fine...
Showing of her wet diaper ghetto booty.
 Splashing hard.
 The dudes.
One fedora per group, and I think Avery rocks it the best.
 Kissing her reluctant boyfriend Easton...
