Pizza Party

Avery and Lily have been planning a "pizza party" for several weeks now.  They both ask me about it it when I pick up Avery and Brittany (Lily's mom) has told me Avery has asked her a few times.  So we finally made it happen the Sunday we returned from Greenville.  Avery asked me on the way to their house if there would be balloons and decorations because it was a "party".
Brittany even provided some real cheese for Avery to use.  The girls made their personal pan pizzas topped with olives and broccoli (which Avery later picked off of course).  I made a calzoney-burrito thing using a vegan dough and vegan cheese....I mean it looks like cheese...I drew the line at the tofurky pepperoni, but added some mushrooms and fresh spinach.  It actually turned out to be pretty tasty, guess that shows how long it's been since I've actually had cheese.  Apparently the secret is to melt/bake it and it tastes more "real".   Then we went upstairs and the girls had a dance party.  It was a fun pizza party!

I even ate the other half for dinner the next night!

Weekend Adventures

This past weekend, we once again took tto the road to visit Mary and Jimmy's new house in Greenville.  They live right next to a great park, so we took the kids there for some fun after naptime.  Those 2 specs off in the distance are Avery and Easton running around like crazy people.

Easton has this great sled that works on grass as well as snow, so we all took turns going down a big hill.  The kids went together first.
And did a great job working together to carry it back up the hill.

Mary and Avery.  I think Avery convinced everyone to take her at least twice.

Videos!!!

Ellie and Carter were having a great conversation while the bigger kids were sliding.
Once we got back to the house, the smaller kids played downstairs while the big kids had a blast in Easton's play room.  Ellie has her cheese face down pat.  Carter was having a blast playing with all the new toys and learned a few new tricks from Ellie.  Pretty much as soon as we got back from Greenville he figured out the whole crawling thing (video coming).
Ellie was a great host as long as you kept Carter arms length away from her.  Here she is sharing toys.

Sibling Love

These are a few pictures from the last few days of our two favorite kiddos.

Mornings are hard to get everyone out the door, but Avery does a good job watching her little brother (and cartoons) in the mornings as we run around like crazy trying to get shoes and/or pants on everyone.
 Avery teaching Carter about birds.
Apparently they both think Booby Birds are funny.
This little guy working on his crawling game.
One evening, Avery even helped me feed Carter for a few minutes while I got her dinner ready to go.
While it may have ended up all over Carter's face, he isn't going to turn down anyone feeding him.

This is a silly video of Avery making her brother laugh.

7 Months

Carter turned 7 months a couple of days ago so this weekend we did our little photoshoot.  This month has brought some new tricks to Carter's repertoire as you will see in the following pics.

He is getting better at his sitting up, but is easily distracted by a toy, his sister, or Charger.  A few moments later he is flopping in their general direction.
Tell me this grin isn't the cutest.
We swore this weekend was going to be when he started crawling, because he is pretty confident on all fours and doing the little bob back and forth trying to figure out how to move.  Right now his crawl consists of getting up on all fours, flopping forward, and repeating.  It won't be long now.
Carter loves his big sister probably more than anything other than a good meal.  Avery is getting pretty good at reading and Carter will listen to her read as long as she keeps the book far enough away that he can't chew on it.

Halloween

So our Halloween this year was a little different than previous years since it was on Saturday and conflicted with a football game.

Carter had this great monkey costume although we didn't send him to school in it.
Avery went to school as Tinkerbell.
Since we were going to go to the game on Saturday and wanted to have a trick or treating experience with Avery, we found a local church that was having a "Trunk or Treat" event.  Avery was pretty excited about it.
 Carter....not so impressed.
This was the church that Laura's cousin Jonathan got married at and we randomly ran into them there.  The kids had a great time chasing each other around while the adults got to have adult conversation...you know Disney, candy, and costume stuff.

On Saturday we went to the football game in costume as well.  There were tons of cars that were doing trunk or treating, so after we saw the band and cheerleaders we took a lap around the parking lot to pick up some bonus candy.  Shoutout to the people passing out samples of Super Spicy Takis.  Avery got pretty proficient in picking out Reese's cups and Milky Way's for Laura.  She didn't mind digging to the bottom to find something that Laura liked.
 Tinkerbell part deux.
Morgan and Macey also came to help us passout candy from our tailgating spot.  I was surprised at how many kids showed up in costume to the game.  It was also funny to see which kids would go into the bowl for a piece vs those who went for the big handful.
Silly Graydon dressed up as a laxy Mexican and Avery enjoyed his hat.
And of course we had a blast at the football game!  Go Pack!
