Hanging at the Farm

After picking some berries, Carter took a nap and Avery headed straight to the barn.  It's been a while since she's been able to ride Bucky and she was excited.  She remembered where everything was and started brushing him first.

Avery said he had a dirty butt and we needed to brush it.

Avery waited on the mounting block while Stephanie finished tacking him up.  She hopped on as soon as he walked over.

Jude lead Avery around the farm.  They make a great team.

Happy girl!

Look at this cowgirl!

And of course, the day would not be complete without some time on the trampoline.  Glad this ol thing is still getting some use!

Memorial Day Weekend Part 1 - Strawberry Picking

Our usual Memorial Day weekend involves camping and canoeing with friends on the New River, but this year only one of us did that.  I decided to take a road trip and break in the new mommy wagon.  Robert loaded me up on Friday morning and we headed to Vass after lunch.  Avery watched princess movies and Carter slept.  It was a smooth trip with no stops and timed perfectly between feedings.
Stephanie and Jude met us at Mimi and Papa's house and we went to pick strawberries at Pilson's Farm.  I had to assure Avery she would have time to ride Bucky and jump on the trampoline when we got back before she would agree to go.  Of course, once we got there, she loved it.

Mimi took Carter up and down the rows and they added a few to the buckets.

Finding the juicy red ones might even be better than finding Easter eggs.  Avery kept saying "Look mommy, I found another one!!"

Avery didn't want to step over the row so she ran down to the end and back.

Time to go weigh in!  I think Jude won.

Carter found a good one

Job well done guys!

Baby Smiles

Before we put up a bunch of posts about the weekend, here are some cute Carter smiles that we finally caught on camera.
Enjoying watching Daddy stick out his tongue.
This isn't a smile, but just is a funny face.
That is Avery's finger...she loves to be as close as possible to her little brother.

Dance Dance Dance

Avery had her dance recital this past Wednesday at school.

She was pretty excited to lead us to the classroom where they were going to be dancing! Sh
She was pretty excited to see Daddy and her brother once she got into the room.

First up was a tap dance.

 And then some ballet.

 Avery and her Proud Daddy!
My princess and queen.

Avery and BFF Lily.

And her other BFF, Hunter.

Avery's class of dancers.  That front row of girls are Avery and her trouble makers.

And without further ado...12 minutes of 4 year old Tap dancing and ballet.

Visit to Taylorsville

This past weekend we got time to go to Taylorsville so Carter could meet his great grandparents on my side for the first time.  He was on his best behavior and gave lots of good snuggles to everyone.

Nanny was first to get her hands on him.
Avery enjoyed the pudding that Nanny made for her.

Carter is getting bigger and bigger every day, but here are a few pictures of him doing his favorite thing in the world...snuggling and sleeping with Mommy.

Other Stuff

Now that Carter seems to be more on a regular schedule we are able to take a lot more pictures and hopefully keep the blog updated for the grandparents.

Avery had her dentist appointment and came out with no cavities.

We also got to go out to dinner a couple of weeks ago, which was a big deal.

Avery and her BFF

While Avery has adjusted pretty well to having another kid in the house, the best thing that we have been able do to make sure she has some Avery special time is spend time with her best friend Lily.  Lily's parents have been awesome in helping Avery adjust.

Laura has had to drop dairy for Carter, so Lily's mom met Laura and Avery out for frozen almond yogurt one day last week after school, while me and Carter chilled at the house.  The girls of course had a blast.  You can see how much taller Lily is than Avery even though Avery is a couple of weeks older.
Lily's family also came over one afternoon and brought us dinner.  I got to play with the girls outside while Laura got to talk to an adult for once.
This past friday, Lily also took Avery home from school to play on her swingset.  They also got Avery to drink almond milk with dinner...

Carter New Born Pictures

A few weeks ago we had a few pictures taken of our new larger family.  They turned out awesome.

This one is a picture on one of my baby blankets.
This one is pretty obvious who he will be rooting for.
I think this picture captures how much Avery loves her little brother.
Such a great mommy.

Our Happy Family.
