Fall Pictures

So on Sunday after the football game we decided to take some pictures outside since the weather was so nice. No story, just pictures.

A Trip to the Farm

Laura and myself went to the NC State game after Thanksgiving (big surprise) and left Avery with the Gibsons in Vass, NC.  The weather for the weekend was awesome so Avery had some fun going outside.

Getting ready for the game.  I can't wait for her to come to games with us.
Aunt Stephanie showing off her horse and niece.
Avery touching a horse.  I wonder if it feels the same as the one in her touch and feel book.
Finally holding the bottle for herself thanks to Granddaddy Gibson's training, although this has yet to be repeated.

Thanksgiving

This year we had Thanksgiving at our house.  Turkeys were fried, food was made and eaten, and Avery was the star of the show.  We finally got to use our dining room and table for anything other than a place to stack things.  Laura and myself were pleasantly surprised at how well the grandparents took turns playing with Avery.

Dinner courtesy of Rob, Momma Marshall, and the Gibsons.
We tried to give Avery the turkey leg, but she wasn't quite sure what to do with it.

Pullups

We have been busy over the Thanksgiving weekend, so I haven't written anything, so I am going to write a few blog posts now.  Yay!  They will go up over the next couple days so keep checking back.

So we skipped the whole crawling around being cute phase and are into the let's pull up on things and bust our face on the coffee table or bar stool phase.

Headed for disaster....
Who me?  I wasn't going to do anything dangerous.
This is how we found her a few days ago after her morning nap.   If that isn't the face of trouble, I don't know what is.
She was working on gumming her way out of her cage/crib.

Say What?

So it seems in the past week since Avery has moved to her new school her development has gone bananas.  I posted a "crawling" video last weekend, but she is straight up crawling now.  She can make it about 8 feet before she either gets tired or loses interest in what ever she is chasing (Charger mostly).  She is learning how to open cabinets so we need to step up the baby proofing.

This weekend we were in Raleigh for a football game and left her at my parent's house.

This is her playing with the walker that they have.  She has figured out how to move it around the room.
So on Sunday we come back and look who is pulling up on stuff.  I didn't get a great picture but she was on the balls of both of her feet before she chickened out.  So from learning how to sit, to crawling, to pulling up in a couple weeks.

New School

So Avery started a new school this week.  So far she has had a pretty good time.  Good naps and eating most of her food.  They also have camera's in the room that you can check up on them online.  It is comforting to see how many teachers are in the room compared to the number of kids (esp compared to her old school) as well as see Avery rolling around playing with toys.

In this picture you can see Avery down in the bottom corner playing with a teacher.  A few minutes after I grabbed this screen shot the teacher was pulling Avery out of the toy bin as she was trying to pull out every single toy.

Party Animal

We were at a baby shower this weekend for Avery's future not boyfriend, Baby Boy Giorgi.  The party started at 6pm and after an hour and a half drive, we were a little unsure as to how well it was going to go.  We fully expected a full melt down, or at least she would be winey and crash early.  The car ride over from the Giorgi's to the party made us even more concerned as she screamed the entire 15 minute ride in front of Mary's sister and Jimmy's mom.  However when we got to the party, we got the complete opposite.

Avery enjoyed talking and smiling with all the people.  There was about 30 people there so there was a dull roar of everyone talking over each other and Avery wanted to be a part of it so was yammering up a storm.  She got to meet a ton of new people and greeted them with a smile.

Smiling as she greets everyone.

Laughing at a joke from Mary's dad Tom.

Later on in the evening after her regular bedtime she started to get a little fussy so we took her downstairs to get away from all the people.  We found a jumparoo down there and put her in it.  It was love at first sight.  She had the biggest smile and had a blast.  The below video is a snippet of her going bonkers for about 30 minutes and wearing herself out.  She spent the rest of the party sleeping upstairs and the entire ride home.  The first thing we did when we got home was ordered one of these things from Amazon.  I can't wait for it to show up so she can have some more fun.  She even enjoyed helping me pick out this video.  When I played it on the computer screen this morning she started kicking her feet and laughing.

Say goodbye to my little friends

Yesterday was Avery's last day at her school that she started when we went back to work.  A new place opened up very close to our house and we decided it was a sign that we need to change.  Several little things, including the fact that the school has been without a principal for several months, led us to make the move to Kiddie Academy.
I know she's only been there 5 months, but it was kinda emotional to say good bye to her teachers and little friends.  They made her a goodbye card.

Since Veterans Day is a school and bank holiday, Rob and Avery got to hang out today.  This worked out pretty well considering Avery needed to go to the doctor.  She really enjoyed the tissue paper as usual.

Crawling?

The whole crawling thing is very very close to happening.  This is a video of her trying to string all the motions together.  She is getting pretty good at getting where she is wanting to go, but is easily distracted by Charger.  Time to start baby proofing.

Plus a picture of her smiling, because that is really all she does.....

Facebook Comments

Due to the difficulty of some people understanding how to use google comments, I have enabled facebook comments and the like button.  If you were to click on the title of the post, there is a like button as well at the bottom is a comment section that uses facebook login.

More eatin'

Not much of a story about her eating, other than she is eating more and more each day.  We have gone up in size of bottles and the size of the food that she gets.  This increases the size of the mess that she makes as shown in the first picture.
Studying the nutritional facts of the orange mush that she was getting ready to eat.  This is a nightly ritual.  She picks out the food that she is going to eat after carefully reading the ingredients and weighing the benefits of the nutritional percentages against each other.
As usual, goofing off for the camera.....

Bath Time part 3?

Now that Avery can sit up, bath time is a different experience.  Rather than her relaxing and laying around, she takes it upon herself to splash as much water and have as much fun as possible.
You can see by all the ripples how much fun she is having.
She is really having a good time, but the camera makes everything much smilier.  Spell check says that isn't a real word, but my definition is more smiles than normal.

Halloween

Halloween was pretty disappointing.  We had only 3 kids show up at our house and they all came at the same time.  We didn't get Avery a costume to wear to day care as everything we send her in ends up with baby food on it somehow.  How do they get baby food on the back of her neck?  They must feed these kids with a shotgun or something.

We do have some sort of monkey outfit to dress her in for this weekend to take her to Greensboro.  Perhaps there will be pictures taken.

While Avery didn't get to eat any candy, she did get a card from her great-grandmother in the mail.  It turned out to be one of her favorite toys for a few days.

Bestest Friends part 27

About the only laugh we have ever heard not from tickling or swinging her around.

Charger is no longer afraid to be near her, but he tries to stay just out of grabbing distance.  The few times that she has grabbed his hair, he dealt with it very patiently.

Charger will now anytime Avery is playing on the floor or even sitting come over and sniff her eyes.  Yes, it is about the weirdest thing ever, but that is how Charger meets people and says hello.  Avery doesn't grab for him while he sniffs her eyes.  It is like they have worked out some sort of agreement.
