Weekend in Moore County

This past weekend's trip was to Lumberton and Moore County.  It was a good warmup to the multiple road trips of football season and Carter traveled like a champ.  We did learn that it is important to keep backup batteries for Avery's headphones and that I am sooooo happy we have a minivan.

First up was the Gentry family pool party. Avery got to play with her cousin Wren and show off her swimming skills.
Carter of course was the center of attention and got plenty of time on everyone's lap including his Grammie.
Once we were back in Vass, Avery got plenty of time to play with her Papa.
She and Mimi got Bucky ready for a ride around the yard.
Avery got to go a little faster this time and trot on Bucky rather than just walk.
All while Daddy got to play a round of golf with his buddy Daniel.
Avery also got to jump in the pool with Stephanie, Joe, and Jude at Stephanie's neighbor's house.

Sibling Love

Not much to write about, but these 2 definitely love each other.  The first thing Avery does every morning is ask where Carter is and Carter is always quick with a smile when he sees his sissy.

My blond kiddies.
2 smiling kids wearing footie jammies.

 Big smiles.
Carter listening to everything Avery says.

Grandparents Visit

It took me a while to find the pictures, but my parents came a couple weekends ago to watch the kids so that we could go out to dinner.

Avery was pretty excited about showing off all her toys to Gigi and Ru.
Of course everyone was happy to see Carter and get their hands on him.
Avery got to do some baking with Gigi and make some sweet rolls for us to eat.  Avery had to wear her chef's outfit when she helps Gigi and when we asked her what the name of her restaurant was, she said "Sunshine Cafe!"  I have no idea where she came up with that, but was their bakery products are top notch.
 Rolling out the dough.
 Me and the kids.
On Saturday, Sara and Mark came by with Anna to chill at the pool.
Avery and Anna had a blast as usual following each other around.
Carter was quickly over the noise and took a nap by the pool.
They had matching dresses to wear.
This is how toddler's give hugs.  Aggressively and around the neck in a head lock fashion.

School Days

As you might know our kid's school has a camera in it so we can peek in to see what they are up to.  The problem is that Avery moves too fast to see what she is doing and Carter looks like every other bald baby if you don't know what he is wearing.  Luckily the school also takes pictures during the day and emails them to us.  They are a great way to brighten up your day as you are filling out yet another TPS report.

Avery's room had a visitor a few weeks ago talking to them about Mexican culture.  I think we need one of these hats for her at the beach.
They were also visited by someone with animals for the kids to learn about.  Avery was brave and wore a snake around her neck.
 And touched a snake.
 And rode a turtle.
Carter's pictures are a bit more subdued, but it is always good to see his cute face.

Working on his head strength.

 Chilling with his homies.
The smile you get when you pick him up from school.
And this is what happens as soon as he gets home from school most days.  Poor little guy has trouble taking naps with all those other babies crying around him.

4 Months Old

This little guy had his 4 month check up this week.  He is up to 13lbs, 7oz which puts him at 10% in his class while his head came in at 42.5 inches, which remains in the 73rd percentile.  However, he has shot up in height and is now at 25.5 inches, which is in the 62nd percentile.  This confirms the fact that he is indeed growing.  In other news he occasionally sleeps through the night, which is a blessing to Mommy.  He isn't a real big napper at school, but loves a long nap on the weekends.  He loves to smile at his big sister everyday, but Daddy get's the best smiles out of him.  Overall, he is a really happy and easy baby.  On to the pictures....

Such a cutie...
Getting so long...
He hasn't got the sitting thing figured out yet.
Over the past month he has discovered toys. When he would drop this toy out of his visual sight, he started crying until he saw where he dropped it.  I am not sure if that is a good step forward or not...

Beach Trip Part 2

So I mentioned that there were 8 kids and 8 adults...  It was honestly better than just having one or two kids.  They seemed to take turns pairing off with each other and playing.  By the end of the few days, they were best of buddies.

At first there was just 2 toddlers.  Before this picture, they were pretending this chair was a rocketship and flying it to the moon or something.

Easton and his little sister Eleanor Mae.

Carter and one of his girlfriends, Eleanor.
A half smile from both of them.
The problem with having 4 toddlers is that it is hard to get all 4 looking at the camera smiling at the same time, but they did have a great time playing in the pool together.
Carter and 2 of his girls, Eleanor Mae and Elliot.
 Avery and Easton.
This time it was Easton's turn to refuse to look at the camera.
The toddlers and their daddies all painted up for chicken fight battles.

Mary and Laura with 3 of 4 little ones on the beach.

Charlie brought some of her dress up clothes so of course Avery enjoyed that.

And Easton brought his iPad and they all actually shared that quite well - Paw Patrol, bringing kids together so the parents can cook dinner... priceless.

Here's Juliet.  She's the oldest of younger foursome at 13 months.  She was actually just 6 weeks at last year's gathering.  Avery really enjoyed following her around and making her laugh.  She says she can't wait for Carter to get that big.

The Marshall and the Giorgi kids and the end of a fun vacation.

The whole crew!
