Halloween!!

So yesterday was Halloween.  Avery has been excited about it for a while, but the night before she came down with a fever.  We held her out of school, but she was happy most of the day, so we decided to get dressed and head out on the town.

She has been talking about being a purple butterfly for a while, so this is what we ended up with.
She also has been telling me that I should be a ladybug for the same period of time.  I am glad it wasn't a ballerina, but I probably could have talked her out of it.  She was pretty happy in what we came up with for me.
Avery was pretty undecided on what Laura should be.  After the trip to Lazy 5 Ranch, Laura was supposed to be a llama.  Then a little while later it was a mosquito.  We didn't have the tools to put either of those costumes in place so Laura went as a flower.  Avery was ok with it.
Our neighborhood had a big party on Halloween where all the little kids got dressed up, took pictures, ate pizza (not our kid), and ate candy (not our kid).  It was pretty cool for Avery to see all of her little neighborhood friends dressed up. Avery was pretty excited for all of the little presents and I was happy to apply a "Daddy Tax" on all candy received.
They also had a pumpkin decorating contest.  Avery picked out a pumpkin and they put Halloween stickers on them.  Poor Avery had to deal with some kids that only wanted to knock over the sticker box.  Avery of course had to pick up all the stickers and put them back in the box.  Over and over and over again.  It is such a funny and awesome personality quirk that everything has to be cleaned up in and in it's place.  I was happy she didn't melt down dealing with the kids that liked to knock the stickers over.
 Hanging out with Mommy bear.

We did do a little Trick-or-Treating on the way home and it was so cute to see her try and ring the doorbell on the houses.  This is actually our doorbell, but is probably my favorite picture we took yesterday.  The funny thing is that I told her "Good job" cuz I got the picture and she got soooooo mad because she didn't actually ring the doorbell.  "I DIDN'T RING IT DADDY!!!!"

Still a great picture...
