Cousins

Avery got to meet her new cousin Harper last week. Similar to meeting Jayde, not much was said during the meeting, but a silent emotional bond was formed.

Hanging Outside

While today was rainy and cold yesterday was awesome, so we took our usual couple of hours hanging outside on the porch. This is the evidence.

Little Baby Feet

5 weeks old today

1 Month Checkup

So Avery turned one month old. We celebrated this occasion by going to the doctor. Avery topped the scales at 8lbs 4oz and 20.5 inches. That puts her is the 20th percentile in weight and height. However, she is a Marshall so her head diameter was in the 50th percentile. Overall she was incredibly cooperative during the entire doctors visit until someone decided to give her a shot. But from the below picture you can see that later on she recovered to have a nice afternoon hanging out with her mother as dad worked in the yard.

How we spend our afternoons

First Road Trip

So we had our first over night road trip this weekend. We loaded up the car (and I mean loaded) and left Charlotte in the middle of the afternoon headed to Vass. Avery was a champ and slept the entire way.

The way back was another story. After about 30 mins down the road, she decided that she should wet her diaper and would like a snack. And I am not talking about fruit snacks. So we stopped at the McDonalds in Biscoe, NC. If you don't know where that is, you are not alone. That is why I made it a link. After her snack (happy meal minus the toy) she was able to sleep the rest of the 1hr 40mins home undisturbed.

What happened in between? Some horse riding, some shopping, and a lot of baby handling/talking.

We had to take a picture of this because this is how much she gets wound up between the time she lets us know she is hungry and when the bottle is ready. Also to show her this when she is older.

This is how she sleeps. Wrapped up like a burrito. However, she does this less and less everyday. Which is both good and bad. It is nice when she is awake, but bad when she decides that she wants to be awake 10pm to midnight.
