Happy Birthday Boogie

Happy Birthday to my little princess.  One year ago you entered our lives and changed us forever.  We are so blessed to have this healthy, happy, loving angel living with us.

Eating Out

Last weekend Avery let us take her out to lunch for Vietnamese.  She does pretty well in a restaurant if there are plenty of people for her to look at and smile to.  At this place every waiter that came by she would perk up and give them a big grin as they walked by.  This is her exploring rice noodles.

This past weekend we ended up going out for burgers for lunch on Sunday.  Once again the waiters were her favorite people in the place, but she had a good time smiling at the people at the table beside us.

Stairs

This picture was Saturday.  I finally ordered the baby gates 10 minutes later.  If you have ever been to our house, you know we have a pretty tall set of stairs.  I could count them, but for argument's sake let's say 100.  Since you said 100, I am going to correct you and tell you that it is actually 18.  Tuesday night Avery decided to climb all 18 of them.  We of course were spotting her, but she didn't stop until she got to the top.

Combine this with the walking and the fun has just begun.....

Swing

Guess who has a swing in her backyard?  Don't worry....it is "temporary" so the HOA can't catch me.  Who is going to deny this smile a playground?

Walking Part 2

So Avery is working hard on her walking skills...Hopefully in the video you can see the huge smile she gets walking this car thing around.

If you'll notice there is a bag of rice in her car/walker.  The thing is pretty light so she starts pushing it and ends up running after it and can't keep up.  We put the rice in there to weigh it down and slow her down.

 Despite slowing her down, she always steers slightly to the left and runs into things.  I expect a scratch around 4 inches off the ground around the entire baseboard of our house to develop over the next few days.
