Carowinds Winterfest

So Carowinds has a Winterfest now.  You don't get to ride all the rides, but we figured it was a cheap way to see some Christmas lights and see Santa.  However, it turned out really awesome and the kids had a lot of fun.  Hopefully we can squeeze in another visit or two before it ends for the year.

On the way to see Santa, we ran into some characters.  It is always good to see how excited Carter gets about some of these things rather than being afraid of them.

Meeting Santa!!!

Two kids smiling, sitting on Santa's lap!  Not too bad!

After seeing Santa, we got to go see a live musical show staring the Peanuts characters.
The kids were mesmerized (along with the adults in the background)
We met a polar bear!  Carter kept trying to talk to the blowup Santa, telling him that he was happy.  I don't know why he says "I'm happy!" instead of "I am being good", but we will take it.
The lights were pretty impressive as well.

We got to do some rides as well!

Other Random June Stuff

Some other random June pictures.

Avery had her last day of school...she looks so much older, but was still excited to go everyday as she was the first.

Laura did another mud run for charity.  Thanks to everyone that donated!

We of course took the kids to Carowinds a few times.  Avery and Carter aren't quite big enough for the Fury 325 yet...
However, Carter finally was tall enough to do the non-baby rides.  Here he is getting on the gliders for the first time.

You can just barely see is fluffy hair floating on the side of the car under my elbow.  He was cackling laughing the entire time.
Riding the airplanes by himself!
Walking on for another trip on the gliders like a boss!
Well maybe we went a little too hard.

We went to my favorite pizza place for Father's day.
And Avery let me pull her first tooth out!

We also did an adults Carowinds trip with the Rotmans for my birthday (thanks mom and dad) and Laura finally rode the Fury.  She even did it 3 times!

We also went for pizza on my birthday.  Carter with the selfie lean.

One More Trip to Carowinds

Last post of October, I promise.  Since we renewed our season pass to Carowinds, they gave us 3 one day passes to share with someone on a sunday.  So we took the last Sunday of the year and invited the Rotmans to enjoy with us.  We got there first thing in the morning and rode with the kids until lunch.  After lunch Sara and Laura took the kids to our house and Mark and I rode roller coasters all afternoon.  I think we rode the big Fury 325 12 times until we couldn't feel our legs anymore.

Anna and Sara enjoying the roller coaster.

Avery had a blast telling Anna about all the different rides.

On the merry go round.  Anna wanted to ride in the sleigh like Carter.  Poor Madison had to wait outside in the stroller.

Carter had a good time walking around and watching his sister have fun since it was such a nice day.

One last time on the Red Baron.

Labor Day Weekend

When we got back from the beach and sent Avery off to Kindergarten, it was a 3 day weekend straight away and it couldn't have come at a better time.

We took Carter to the salon to get his hair done for Stephanie's upcoming wedding.  He was not impressed by sitting in the airplane and had to be held by Mommy the entire time.

After a quick lunch at 5 guys we headed to do some "They already started school, but we count this as back to school shopping."  Carter had a blast running down the aisles and everytime he got under a speaker pointing at it and starting to dance.  Avery didn't need any more encouragement to dance, so we were the family with our kids having a dance party in Old Navy.

On Sunday, we headed out to the park to let the kids run off a little energy compared to Saturday.  Avery showed us her impressive climbing skills.

Carter had a blast as well, but required a little more close supervision as he wanted to do everything that Avery did.

We may have also gone to the pool, but I don't see any pictures of that so I will substitute a picture in his "Muscle Shirt" according to Avery.

For Labor Day we decided to head out to Carowinds for at least one more trip before the end of the season.  First up was the carousel after Avery took a few turns on the big kid rides.

Carter didn't really like riding on the horses, but enjoyed the carriage.

The girls of course enjoyed the horses.

Since Carter can only do a few things, we took several rides on the kids train.
He stayed pretty focused.

During lunch, Avery got to meet some of the peanuts gang.

Mothers Day Trip

Since Laura does so many little things to make our family happy we thought we would we do something nice for her on Mother's Day.  She wanted to hang out with the kids and do something fun, so after we let her sleep in we went as a family to Carowinds and had a delicious lunch eating off the kid's plates.  (I did do a lot of cooking for Laura that weekend)

Me and Carter waiting for the girls to get off the roller coaster.

Family picture on the observation tower.
Carter seems unimpressed with the view...
